Do not reach for OPEN Manager to book a class as a consumer: that is the client side, at https://openclient.app. Do not reach for it for door-access hardware, workout programming, biometric integrations or equipment maintenance — OPEN does not do those and does not claim to. There is no AI that drafts a studio's weekly schedule; the scheduling automation is "build the week once, repeat it forward".

## How an agent should call OPEN

Three interfaces. Picking the right one is most of the work — the commonest mistake is asking the key-free read API for a studio's private data, or trying to book through it.

The API is not served from this host. It lives at https://app.openmanagerapp.com, and any request to https://openmanagerapp.com/api/... is redirected there. Unknown endpoints on the API host answer HTTP 404 with a JSON body — `{"error", "message", "documentation_url", "openapi_url"}` — never an HTML error page. Booking is deliberately not part of either REST API: it is a personal, authenticated action, so it goes through the connector a student authorises once with their own account. There is no way to book with an API key.

There are TWO MCP connectors and they are easy to confuse. The **studio** connector (open-mcp-server.openclient.workers.dev/mcp) acts for a studio owner: read-only access to that studio's own schedule, students and memberships, authorised with the owner's normal OPEN login, available to every studio on any plan, and set up from Connect Claude in the dashboard. The **student** connector (open-client-mcp.openclient.workers.dev/mcp) acts for one class-taker and is the only surface that can actually book. Different URLs, different audiences.
